Walking is a great form of physical activity that can help you maintain a healthy weight. Belly fat has been linked to a higher risk of heart disease and type 2 diabetes, but moderately walking for at least 30 minutes every day can help you burn calories that would otherwise become excess fat if you were sedentary. One of the main reasons why people exercise is to achieve physical fitness. Moderate walking on a regular basis reduces the risk of high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, heart disease, stroke, joint and muscular pain or stiffness, and other chronic illnesses. 


Walking is a great cardio workout that works your large muscles and forces your heart and lungs to work hard. This makes your heart stronger and more efficient, and increases your lung capacity.


When your cardiac health improves, your blood pressure becomes balanced and bad cholesterol is reduced. Beyond cardiac health, walking also improves your balance, strengthens your bones and increases muscle strength and endurance.
